No equipment can escape the maintenance steps, don’t worry, this article will bring the maintenance methods of the soft starter and how to maintain the soft starter. For example, the common maintenance faults of the soft starter have input phase sequence alarm Error faults, input phase sequence error faults, abnormal load current of the soft starter, bypass detection faults, etc., each has its own processing method, let’s take a look in the article together!

How to Maintain the Soft Starter

Soft starter repair method Daquan

1. Soft starter input power failure
(1) Check whether the input power is normal step by step. First, check whether the input power of the soft starter is normal.
(2) If it is confirmed that the input power is normal, first consider replacing the motherboard of the soft starter. This fault has occurred many times due to the quality of the motherboard.

2. Input phase sequence error fault
This fault usually occurs when it is installed and used for the first time, just change the phase sequence of the input power supply. Phase sequence protection has been set to: None when most equipment is commissioned. The equipment in operation has not experienced a single failure.

3. The load current of the soft starter is abnormal
(1) For this fault, pay attention to check whether the three-phase current recorded on the panel is out of phase or out of phase.
(2) When the panel records the unbalanced current, first check whether the input power is normal, if it is normal, replace the main board of the spare soft starter, and try to turn on the motor again after replacement. (3) If it cannot be opened after replacement, check the insulation of the motor to ground and the insulation between phases
(4) Finally check whether the main contactor, cable and thyristor are normal.

4. Bypass detection failure
(1) Under normal circumstances, when the start time is reached, the bypass output is closed, and the bypass contactor is closed. If you find that the bypass does not pick up, you need to check whether the output contact of the soft starter is closed, and whether the output and power supply are normal (remark: AC220V).
(2) Check the start time and soft start time settings in the DCS program.
(3) If the bypass contactor disconnects immediately after closing, check the start time and soft start time settings in the DCS program.
(4) If it still fails to start, replace the main board of the soft starter. This failure rarely occurs.

5. Motor overcurrent condition
(1) First check the information recorded on the main board of the soft boot. Check whether the motor load is normal.
(2) If no abnormality is found in the cranking inspection load, consider replacing the main board of the soft lifter.
(3) If it still cannot be turned on, finally check the phase-to-phase resistance of the motor and the insulation to the ground.

6. The soft starter panel has a black screen and no display
(1) For faults such as blurred screen and black screen, most of them are quality problems. You can only replace the main board of the soft starter. (2) There is no display on the panel. First, check whether the soft starter control power supply (AC220V) is normal. If the power supply is not normal, then measure the fuse Whether the fuse is blown, whether the circuit breaker is out of phase, whether the control power line is disconnected, etc.

7. How to replace the main board of the soft starter
(1) Record the parameters and cut off the power after recording.
(2) Remove the fixing bolts of the operation panel, and unplug the operation panel plug and each wiring plug.
(3) Remove the main board of the soft lifter and mark it.
(4) Fix the main board of the new soft starter, install each plug, and set the parameters.
(5) Install the operation panel plug and fix the operation panel.

8. Some precautions when using the soft starter
(1) The soft starter cannot be started and stopped frequently, no more than 10 times per hour, and the interval should not be less than 5 minutes.
(2) When checking the insulation of the motor, you can use the shaker to measure the insulation after removing the motor line, otherwise it is easy to break down the thyristor.
(3) Thyristor breakdown is also one of the common faults. Although this fault has not occurred in TDQ series soft starters, it still needs attention. The thyristor is a semiconductor, and its resistance value is very large in the non-working state. It is turned on when it is working. If it is turned on in the non-working state, it means that the thyristor has broken down.
(4) Do not perform any operations on the buttons on the panel during the operation of the equipment.
